Stephen was late entering the legal profession but has certainly made up for lost time. In 1992, he received a first class honours law degree as a mature student, going on to be articled at Martineau Johnson in Birmingham. In 2002, in search of a better work-life balance, he joined Lodders. Here he found the perfect mix, a practice small enough to care but large enough to offer specialisations. The areas Stephen specialises in are trusts and the creation of settlements, capital gains tax, estate and inheritance tax planning. As Stephen is a high achiever who likes being intellectually challenged, he is ideally suited to practicing as a private client lawyer. Working closely with Martin Green, Stephen enjoys a reputation for his technical ability and is recognised in Chambers UK Guide as a “very bright individual”. When not in the office, he can be found, more often than not, catching up on his sport or buried in the pages of a good book.
