Strictly success for Lodders family law specialist

The firm’s Vivienne Middleton has raised over £2,500 for children’s charity Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice, securing first place at fundraising event Strictly Christmas 2019.

Senior associate in Lodders’ family department, Vivienne Middleton, took part in Strictly Christmas 2019, performing to an audience of more than 700 people over two nights.

The dancing event, organised by children’s charity Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice, took place on 13th and 14th December at the Royal Court Hotel, Coventry.  Vivienne was paired with an experienced dancer, Chris Nagle, Events & Marketing Manager at the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce. The pair initially performed a waltz and a jive, as part of a group of 4 couples.

First place

The 24 dancing pairs were whittled down to just 6 finalists by a world class judging panel.  The pair eventually had the floor to themselves, scoring the highest on both nights, and securing a first-place win on the Friday night.

Between Vivienne’s JustGiving page, and the guests attending on the night, Vivienne was able to raise over £2,500 for Zoë’s Place. The event itself raised over £83,000 for the charity.

Worthy cause

“It has been an incredibly challenging 8 weeks of dance training and fund raising, but I am immensely proud of the amount we were able to raise for such a worthy cause. Zoë’s Place is such a deserving organisation, and does such important work” says Vivienne.

“This is far and away my biggest personal achievement for some time, and it was a wonderful event to be involved in. I want to thank everyone who has supported me by donating, and to those who supported me on both nights.”

Zoë’s Place provides 24-hour palliative, respite and end-of-life care to infants with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. They provide short-term regular care with their dedicated nursing staff, in a home from home environment, to give parents and carers a well-deserved break.

Vivienne’s page is still open for donations, and can be found here.
