The firm’s Real Estate Group – one of the largest in the Midlands with 30 specialist real estate, environmental, planning, construction and highways legal experts – acts for many of the most active housebuilders, developers and land promoters across the region.
Lodders beat off stiff competition from fellow shortlisted finalists Shoosmiths and Gowling WLG, to scoop the Law Firm of the Year for the second year in the row.
“The award recognises the law firms and deals that have made a real impact on the Midlands in the past 12 months, and winning it is further recognition of the team’s outstanding work and a string of high profile residential development deals,” he says.
“These include advising on the sale of a prime 62-acre residential development site at Bishopton near Stratford upon Avon; the combined multi-million-pound land sale of two prime development sites in Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire; and the purchase of multiple phases at the Branston Locks development in Staffordshire that is currently one of the largest in the UK.
“The team has shown great strength and resilience over the last year during these difficult times,“ he adds. “We have a very strong residential development and strategic land practice that has gone from strength to strength, recently launched service offerings in environmental law, business property and renewables, and prestige town and country homes.
“The size of our team means we have the strength and depth of experience, whilst remaining agile enough to enable our clients to really get to know the individual or team working for them, so we can combine exceptional client service with legal skill and knowledge.
“The award is well deserved and a great achievement for the whole Real Estate Group. I am delighted with all we have accomplished.”
