Webinar: Renewable Energy Solutions Update

We’re delighted to invite you to our latest webinar on renewable energy solutions, taking place on Wednesday 7th July, from 10:00am to 11:00am.

Renewable energy solutions are becoming increasingly significant, presenting opportunities for land and property owners alike. Join us for our latest live webinar, where our expert speakers offer insight into a range of renewable energy issues, including the commercial aspects of schemes, through to the implications of renewable energy installation.

James Morton from Sworders will explain the ins and outs of commercial negotiation, and Hugh Taylor from Roadnight Taylor will discuss the technical issues involved in obtaining consent to connect a new scheme to the National Grid. Lastly, Lodders’ own Alastair Frew will be chairing the webinar and discussing the nature of the legal documents which are typically required for renewable energy solutions.

This webinar will be of interest to landowners, property developers, and agents. There will be a Q&A session at the end, and questions may also be submitted in advance to Angela Howard.

Click to RSVP now.

Wednesday 7th July, 10:00am to 11:00am.

James Morton – Associate Surveyor, Sworders

James grew up on a mixed farm based in the heart of Warwickshire and has a degree from Harper Adams University in Rural Enterprise and Land Management. He joined Sworders in the autumn of 2019, having spent the previous 7 years working for a local firm of land agents. James qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2015 and is a past chair of the Coventry and Warwickshire RICS Matrics.

Hugh Taylor – CEO, Roadnight Taylor

Hugh is acknowledged as the UK’s leading expert in securing and monetizing grid connection rights on behalf of landowners. In 2019 alone, his team at Roadnight Taylor enabled over one gigawatt of renewables projects, covering some 3,000 acres and worth over £100 million in ground rent.

He is the only person who sits on the connections steering panels for all six UK Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), giving him first‐hand knowledge and an understanding of their procedures, policies, and ongoing strategies. His informative and entertaining presentations always receive great feedback.

Chair: Alastair Frew – Lodders Solicitors

Alastair Frew is a partner in Lodders’ Real Estate team and heads up the Business Property team, having been with the firm since 2002. He is a member of Lodders’ specialist Renewables team and advises on the legal implications of installing solar panels, wind turbines, gas-fired reserve power stations, and electric car charging points.

Alastair specialises in commercial real estate work, with a particular focus on rural land and buildings. He advises commercial developers, housebuilders, and private investors, together with the banks and institutions that fund them.

If you are interested in attending this webinar, please RSVP to Angela Howard, who will provide you with a zoom link as well as any further information.
