Amy joined Lodders in July 2017 when her previous firm, DFLP, merged with Lodders. Amy began her career at DFLP in 2012 as a Paralegal. She went on to train with the firm enjoying a 3 month secondment to Lodders as part of her training contract. Amy qualified as a solicitor in October 2014.
Amy was trained by and has worked with Beverley Morris on a variety of family law disputes including complex mid to high net worth cases involving companies, trusts, off-shore assets and insolvency, Schedule 1 and TOLATA cases.
Amy assisted Beverley Morris on behalf of the successful wife in Aly v Aly [2015] EWCA Civ 947 and researched and drafted the subsequent application for enforcement of the award against an occupational pension applying Blight v Brewster [2012] EWHC 165. Amy also assisted on the Supreme Court case of Mills v Mills on behalf of the successful husband.
Amy also has experience of private law children proceedings involving domestic abuse, intractable child arrangements and internal/external relocation. She recently advised a client in a complex Children Act case involving issues of parental alienation which resulted in the judge going against the view of the guardian in the client’s favour.
Amy has a keen interest in all aspects of family law and was awarded the Family Law Prize at the College of Law for obtaining the highest mark in family law in Birmingham in 2011. Amy is a member of Resolution and sits on the West Midlands committee of YResolution.
