I am a solicitor in the Dispute Resolution team, specialising in Contentious Probate. I joined Lodders in March 2018 from Wilsons Solicitors LLP in Salisbury. I specialise in probate disputes, including challenges to the validity of wills, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and other claims against estates such as those based in undue influence or proprietary estoppel.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
Each of my cases usually has an interesting story behind it and I really enjoy working to find the best solution for the particular client.
What sort of clients do you work with?
My clients are an interesting mix of charities and individuals.
Have you always worked in the legal sector? If not, what did you do before?
I came to the law profession relatively late. After university, I spent 7 years living in France working for a variety of organisations including the European Science Foundation in Strasbourg and the British Consulate in Bordeaux. When I returned to the UK, I worked for an investment bank and city law firm in their Risk and Anti-Money Laundering teams whilst studying for the law conversion and LPC in the evenings.
Are you a member of any societies, committees or organisations either at work or externally?
I am a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
A combination of the dog and the children requiring my attention. I haven’t needed an alarm clock for some years now!
