I am a consultant in the private client team and I specialise in wills, trusts and mental capacity work. I am also very interested in cross border issues which are becoming increasingly important to our clients. I have been with Lodders since November 2012, and beforehand I worked with a big national firm in Birmingham again specialising in wills, trusts and Court of Protection work.
What sort of clients do you work with?
My clients are a real cross section – the only thing they have in common is that they need my advice. I still get a real buzz from the feeling that I have helped clients through often stressful and difficult times, and particularly love it when they recommend me to their friends!
Have you always worked in the legal sector? If not, what did you do before?
I have always worked in the law and always in this kind of work. Over the years I have met some fascinating people and had some equally fascinating cases – every person, and every matter, is unique. That is what makes my work so interesting.
Are you involved with, or a trustee, of any charities?
I set up a charity for clients in 1979 and was delighted when they asked me to become a trustee – and I still am.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
It’s not a problem for me – I enjoy coming to work.
