Private Client Executive
I work in the Private Client department at Lodders. I specialise in a broad range of private client matters including estate administration, will drafting, estate planning, trust administration, and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs).
What do you most enjoy about your job?
I am fortunate that my role allows me to regularly meet new people and assist them with their own affairs, or help them with estate administration. This is often a difficult time for families and I like to think that I can offer them support in this area at a time that is very difficult for them.
When did you start at Lodders? Any interesting past employers?
I started at Lodders in February 2021 during lockdown, which is an interesting time to start a new role! That said, I settled in immediately and was made to feel very welcome. From 2006 – 2017 I worked for a company specialising in estate administration which meant that I was exposed to a wide variety of estates. From 2017 -2021 I worked for a trust corporation specialising in trusts, trust administration, and estate planning.
Have you always worked in the legal sector? If not, what did you do before?
Immediately after leaving school, I began training to be a midwife. I soon realised that midwifery was not the career I wanted to pursue. However, I was fortunate to assist many women with the delivery of their babies. From one end of the life scale to the other, I then embarked on my career in probate and estate administration.
Are you a member of any societies, committees or organisations either at work or externally?
I am a full member of the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners. I am also a Dementia Friend.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
My dog, Baxter, insists that I get out of bed in the morning so that he can snuggle with my husband. This is closely followed by my children and their requests for breakfast!
