I qualified as a solicitor in February 2010 and joined Lodders in June 2014 as an associate in the Private Client department, having previously worked for Harrison Clark Rickerbys.
I assist clients with the preparation of wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection applications, probate and tax planning. I specialise in agricultural and high-value estates.
I work with clients from all walks of life dealing with everything from a basic will or probate to complex family trusts. My previous experience and contacts has meant that I have been acting for business owners or agricultural clients in relation to Inheritance Tax planning which often centers around tax mitigation and succession planning and can involve a wide range of solutions.
I have always worked in the legal sector, however, I come from a farming family and I have always helped out on the family farm.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
I enjoy meeting new people and being able to help people with things that are worrying them and achieving a good outcome for them.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
In the summer my alarm at 5am so that I can ride before work, in the winter a lot of will power!
I spend most of my free time with my horses, of which I currently have 4 at home at the moment. I try to compete at least fortnightly and I am a member of British Show Jumping and the Malvern Hills riding club which I regularly represent at a variety of events.
Any interesting personal achievements or qualifications?
I was awarded GWILS Gloucestershire Young Solicitor of the Year 2012 and I completed my degree in Equine Science at Hartpury College prior to undertaking my conversion course and LPC.
