Nick leads the team of employment solicitors at Lodders and also heads up our Cheltenham office. He specialises in employment law, covering both contentious and non-contentious cases. He acts for both employers (ranging from privately-owned companies to listed FTSE companies) and employees of ranging seniority and interests, priding himself on his balanced view of both sides of the relationship. Nick’s work includes the handling of employment tribunal claims of all kinds and he regularly undertakes High Court litigation for clients with contractual issues arising out of employment relationships.
In addition, Nick and his team support the everyday requirements of Lodders’ commercial clients and advise on the employment aspects of transactions, re-reorganisation and redundancies. Nick has a great breadth of experience and has handled a large number of complicated multi-party transfer of undertakings (TUPE) cases. He and his team regularly draft employment contracts and policies and engage in general advisory work for clients.
Nick also regularly advises on employment-related shareholder issues and enjoys a wealth of experience in acting in respect of regulatory issues involving organisations such as the Rugby Football Union, the General Medical Council, Health and Care Professionals Council and the Financial Conduct Authority.
Nick is also a qualified and accredited mediator, is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and is listed by the Law Society as an expert employment law solicitor. Having trained with a UK top 25 firm after obtaining his degree in law at King’s College London, Nick was admitted as a solicitor in September 2002 and has over 15 years experience in employment law work.
