Head of Risk & Compliance
T: 01789 206110
I joined Lodders on 1st October 2018 in the new role of Head of Risk and Compliance. I previously worked at the Law Society and SRA for a total of 20 years and most recently for nearly 5 years at Irwin Mitchell in Birmingham. I see my role here as helping the firm and its staff to satisfy our regulatory obligations, which will hopefully provide our clients with confidence that we will always act with integrity and in their best interests at all times.
What do you specialise in?
I have good working knowledge of most SRA applications as well as Law Society accreditation schemes such as CQS.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
Forging new working relationships and helping colleagues resolve any regulatory or compliance issues.
Any interesting qualifications?
I recently undertook training to become a Mental Health First Aider.
Any interesting personal achievements?
Apart from my 3 beautiful children, my personal achievements are predominantly sport related. I played first XV rugby for Redditch RFC for 10 years from the age of 17. A long time ago I was a Midlands Cricketer of the year; Worcestershire League Cricketer of the Year and Redditch Sports Personality of the Year. I toured South Africa in 1997 with the Midlands Club Cricket Conference team and was selected to play at Lords against the MCC but, unfortunately, it rained as we took the field and didn’t stop all day. I also scored my first ever hole-in-one in golf earlier this year at Burnham and Berrow GC which was very satisfying.
