Lodders returns as sponsor of Stratford Literary Festival

Lodders is continuing its support of the arts within its local community by returning as a sponsor of Stratford upon Avon’s nationally recognised Literary Festival for the seventh consecutive year.

The programme of events sponsored by the firm at the 2019 Festival includes an interview with celebrity author Prue Leith, and a talk from Dame Darcey Bussell, one of the UK’s most well-known ballet dancers.

The Festival, now in its twelfth year, runs until the 5th May 2019, with a packed programme of events staged at numerous venues across Stratford.

Lodders is sponsoring two flagship events, both at Stratford Playhouse.

On the 2nd May, Great British Menu and Great British Bake-Off judge, Prue Leith, showcases her latest novel, The Lost Son – the third of her Angelotti Chronicles – and talks to Jane Garvey of BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour about her life, career, and storytelling.

Lodders is also supporting the ‘Dance!’ event on 4th May, which features Dame Darcey Bussell, the retired ballerina and former Strictly Come Dancing judge. She will talk about her lifelong love of dance, how it all works on Strictly, and why dance can do so much to benefit mental health.

Commenting on the firm’s support of this year’s Festival, Lodders’ Equity Partner, Graham Spalding, a Trustee of the Stratford Literary Festival, said: “The Literary Festival is a highlight on the annual event’s calendar for Stratford, and attracts thousands of people who share a passion and love of books, writing and reading.

Cultural showcase

“As a Trustee of the Festival and in my new role at Lodders, I am particularly looking forward to being involved in the event this year, which has a line-up of events that is bigger than ever. Lodders is an active supporter of events for its local communities and as a proud sponsor of two of the Festival’s leading events this year is once again backing one of Stratford’s leading cultural showcases.”Regarded as one of the most significant literary festivals in the UK, the Stratford Literary Festival is a mixture of debate, ideas, celebrity author events, workshops and humour at venues across the town.
