I spent the first half of my career in local government working for four different councils, ending as Chief Executive and Town Clerk of the Surrey Heath Borough Council in Camberley. I entered private practice in Birmingham in 1990 and joined Lodders in Stratford upon Avon in 2002. I now work as a consultant with Lodders, specialising in and advising clients on highways, public rights of way, compulsory purchase and common land and village greens. I am a member of the National Stakeholder Working Party on public rights of way, organised by the Department for Food, Rural Affairs and Agriculture. The clients I work with tend to be private individuals or house builders.
