Are you looking to grow your career within employment law?

Apply now

Advise with confidence and make a real impact by guiding employers and employees through complex employment law matters. We’re looking for a dedicated and ambitious Employment Solicitor to join our growing and friendly team at Lodders.

This is an exciting opportunity to work across a broad range of high-quality employment matters — supporting both employers and employees — with a strong focus on delivering commercially sound, solution-focused advice. You’ll be part of a well-respected team with a collaborative culture, trusted client relationships, and a clear vision for the future.

If you’re looking to take ownership of your work, contribute to team success, and continue developing your expertise in a supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you.

What you will be doing

In this role, you’ll enjoy variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to grow. You’ll:

  • Advise employer and employee clients on a broad range of employment law matters — including contracts, grievances, disciplinary issues, redundancies, TUPE, and disputes.
  • Deliver practical legal advice with a clear commercial focus, helping clients achieve their objectives.
  • Manage your own caseload confidently, with access to guidance and support when needed.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the team, working collaboratively and sharing knowledge.
  • Keep up to date with legal developments, building your technical expertise and professional profile.
  • Maintain and strengthen existing client relationships, delivering excellent service.
  • Support and lead business development initiatives, alongside colleagues and independently

What you will bring

We’re looking for someone who combines legal excellence with emotional intelligence and a team-first attitude with:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ PQE in employment law (more experienced candidates are welcome to apply).
  • Qualification as a Solicitor in England and Wales (or equivalent).
  • Strong technical understanding across both advisory and contentious employment law.
  • A proactive and committed approach to learning and professional development.
  • Excellent communication skills — confident with clients and comfortable building relationships.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities.
  • A commercial mindset, with the ability to apply legal advice in a real-world context.
