We are currently looking for a junior paralegal to join our Real Estate group within our Cheltenham office.

To provide legal support to the firm’s lawyers and clients by assisting in various aspects of legal work, including research, documentation, and case preparation. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth running of legal matters, contributing to case management, and providing administrative assistance to enhance the overall efficiency of the legal team.

Key tasks/responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on case law, statutes, and legal precedents to assist in case preparation and strategy development.
  • Assist in the preparation and drafting of legal documents such as contracts, letters, and pleadings, ensuring they comply with legal requirements.
  • Support the management of client cases, including organizing case files, tracking deadlines, and maintaining documentation.
  • Communicate with clients under the supervision of solicitors, providing updates and collecting necessary information or documents.
  • Prepare documentation for hearings, including briefs, bundles, and witness statements. Attend hearings or trials to assist solicitors.
  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and handle general administrative tasks for the legal team.
  • Ensure that all legal practices and documentation are in compliance with current laws and regulatory requirements.

Knowledge, education, and experience required:

  • A law degree or equivalent qualification. Completion of a paralegal qualification is preferred, though not essential.
  • Previous experience in a legal environment, particularly in a paralegal role, is beneficial. Experience in [specific area, e.g., commercial litigation, property law] is desirable.
  • Basic understanding of legal terminology, processes, and procedures. Familiarity with legal research tools and case management systems is an advantage.
