Designed specifically for the legal sector, Lexcel is the Law Society’s legal practice quality mark for practice management and client care. A quality management system demonstrates the commitment and ability to consistently deliver services that meet and exceed client expectations.
The Lexcel accreditation is an excellent benchmark for Lodders as it sets out the very highest standards required by the Law Society.
To be included in the process, Lodders had to complete a self-assessment checklist for initial accreditation, submit the application form, and then be assessed by an independent body which is what took place recently.
Taking part over three days, several members of staff, both lawyers and support staff, were interviewed around topics of risk management, client retention and bringing in new business, and client care.
Lodders were found to have had a very successful period following the last review in 2021, with successful highlighted areas including the staff screening policy used to assess new starters against an appropriate benchmark for a law firm.
The ‘new recruit welcome pack’, which every new starter receives, was regarded as being particularly impressive. One new starter had said in their feedback that they had never seen anything like this at any other firm, prior to joining Lodders. One interviewee, on being asked whether they felt the role lived up to the marketing and the job description, remarked that it “exceeded expectations”.
The planned roll-out of a new client welcome pack was also received well and the plans in place looked promising for the future. The other new client service initiative in progress through Review Solicitors was also marked particularly well. With this, Lodders will give every client the opportunity to provide direct feedback on their time spent with any of our solicitors.
Paul Mourton, managing partner commented on the findings:
“It is really pleasing to note that our successful re-accreditation to this important quality mark, and I would like to thank the whole team and, in particular, our head of risk and compliance, Paul Harrison.
“Most pleasing of all was the staff feedback on how we have dealt with the pandemic and our people management generally.”
