Charley Walker

Short bio:

I am a Paralegal in Lodders’ Private Client team.

I joined Lodders in May 2024 and specialise in probate and estate administration. I work closely with the Partners and senior lawyers in the team, assisting with the administration of complex taxable estates and supporting clients through every stage of the probate process. I also manage my own estate administration matters, helping executors and beneficiaries navigate what can be a difficult and emotional time.

My work includes preparing probate applications, drafting inheritance tax returns, including IHT400 accounts, liaising with HMRC and financial institutions, collecting and valuing estate assets, assisting with the realisation of assets, preparing estate accounts and overseeing distributions to beneficiaries. I also support the administration of trusts and complex estates involving a wide range of assets.

I enjoy helping clients and their families deal with the practical aspects of estate administration, providing clear and approachable support throughout the process.

I graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2024 with a First Class Honours degree in Law and have ambitions to qualify as a solicitor. Since joining Lodders, I have gained experience working on a broad range of estates, from straightforward administrations to complex taxable estates involving inheritance tax reporting, property sales and asset distributions.

I am also a Dementia Friend, supporting the Alzheimer’s Society initiative to improve understanding of dementia and help make communities more inclusive for those affected by the condition.

Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, running, hiking, reading and spending time with family and friends.
