I am a consultant at Lodders and specialise in advising farmers and landowners on complex succession planning, including the handing over of the estate/farming business to the next generation in the most tax effective way, advising on the property aspect of transactional work including leases (FBTs and AHAs), option agreements, promotion agreements, overage agreements as well as acting as expert in respect of contentious issues relating to agricultural land issues.
I am an active trustee on a number of family trusts and charities. I am chair of Lodders’ Charitable Foundation and a member of the National Farmers Union and the Agricultural Law Association.
I joined Lodders in 1973, which makes me very close to marking my 50th anniversary with the firm! I farm a 150-acre farm as well as running my own farming business.
