I was admitted as a solicitor in 1995 and am now a partner in Lodders’ Private Client Department where I advise clients on a broad range of wills, tax and estate planning matters. I started at Lodders in June 2017 and previously worked in and around Warwickshire for 21 years. I specialise in advising business owners, farmers and high net worth individuals on estate planning including their wills, LPAs, personal tax, structuring their business, trusts and bloodline planning.

What do you most enjoy about your job?

I enjoy working with clients and their advisers to put in place appropriate planning.  I like to build relationships with my clients so that I can understand them their family and business, their priorities and outlook and provide advice appropriate for them.  Making that connection and becoming that trusted business adviser and friend gives me a real buzz.

What sort of clients do you work with?

I tend to work with business owners, farmers, landowners, high net worth individuals and their families.  I also tend to act for different generations of the same family which helps maintain stability and a consistent approach for the family.

Are you a member of any societies, committees or organisations either at work or externally?

I am a director of the Kenilworth & District Agricultural Society, past chairman and board member of Coventry & Warwickshire First and a Committee member of the Warwickshire Farmers Ball.

Are you involved with, or a trustee of, any charities?

I have acted as a clerk for a number of local charities.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

On a personal level, supporting my children with their various sporting and recreational activities together gives me great pride and enjoyment.  Seeing my children developing and thriving is all the incentive I need to get up in the mornings!  On a professional level, meeting with my clients and their advisers, helping them put their personal affairs in order and the privilege of being trusted with their personal matters gives me a sense of achievement and satisfaction.  I enjoy getting out of the office and going to see clients at home or at their business or farm so I can get to know them better.

Any interesting qualifications?

I was awarded a worldwide excellence award from STEP (Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners) for achieving the highest result in the Advanced Certificate in Will Preparation Course at the end of last year.

Any interesting personal achievements?

I am currently chairman of the Kenilworth & District Agricultural Society, past chairman and board member of Coventry & Warwickshire First, under Sherriff of Warwickshire and a Committee member of the Warwickshire Farmers Ball.

I enjoy performing on stage for a local amateur dramatics group.  Taking a leading role in the annual pantomime is great fun.  I also like to get involved on the local sports scene and do some coaching for my local junior cricket and rugby teams.
