The site has added eight 150kW Alpitronic chargers to the already stationed eight 125kW chargers, with a lease already granted for a further 16 chargers which will be installed over the coming weeks.
Alastair Frew, partner in the Real Estate team and Head of the Business Property team at Lodders, has worked with Stroud Park Ltd, providing end-to-end conveyancing and legal support for the site’s charging hub.
Alastair explains: “The conveyancing has involved a new lease, legal documentation to surrender part of the lease and grant a lease to a substation company. We also had to put in place the granting of easements to the two separate electricity companies supplying the charging hub – one to the ‘last mile’ company and one to the distribution network operator, Western Power. This was at each phase of the scheme – the initial eight, second eight, and then finally for the next 16 charging points.”
Stroud Park has also been significantly upgraded with additional lighting, wider access spaces and two longer spaces to accommodate the rising number of electric vans and fleet vehicles. There are also plans for seating on site and a small wildflower meadow, to increase biodiversity and create a habitat for pollinating insects.
InstaVolt has pledged to have a network of 1,000 rapid chargers by summer 2022 and then grow to 10,000 rapid chargers by 2032. Its partners include Costa Coffee, McDonald’s, Bannatyne Health Clubs and Booths Supermarkets.
The InstaVolt charger network delivers rapid charge via contactless payment with no customer sign up or subscription required.
A representative of Stroud Park Ltd says: “We are pleased to be able to work with InstaVolt again, strengthening our relationship and providing much needed additional facilities.”
“EV charging is clearly a booming sector as the demand for environmentally friendly green vehicles continues to grow,” adds Alastair, who worked on the deal alongside Simon Harris of Howkins and Harrison Chartered Surveyors.
