Housing developer advised on Worcestershire homes

Lauren Pearson acted for Deeley Homes in the legal aspects of the transaction

A Midlands housing developer has released plans for a development of up to 40 new homes on the edge of Worcestershire village.

Deeley Homes, part of the Deeley Group, is a developer with an 85-year pedigree in creating bespoke homes. It has submitted a planning application to Wychavon District Council to build a new development off Stratford Road in Honeybourne near Evesham.

Lauren Pearson, Associate in the Strategic Land and Residential Development team at Lodders, acted for Deeley Homes in the legal aspects of this transaction.

The development will feature a mix of houses and bungalows and plans to include a 40 percent provision of affordable housing.

Honeybourne living

Eleanor Deeley, joint managing director of the Deeley Group, said: “We’re pleased to be bringing plans forward for this new development in Honeybourne. We opened a public consultation on the development in February, which has included a leaflet drop to homes in the area.

“The development at Honeybourne will have many similarities to our recently completed development in the Cotswold town of Moreton-in-Marsh.

“Our design team will be ensuring that the properties fit in perfectly with the surrounding area and we have designed the development to maintain the semi-rural nature of Stratford Road.

“We will be looking to deliver a range of home types and ownership options to cater to the housing needs of various demographics in the area.”

Collaborative working

Lodders’ Lauren Pearson said: “We are delighted to have acted for Deeley Homes on this exciting new residential scheme. With the legal matters and preparation of the draft planning application running in tandem, we had to ensure the legal aspects reflected the final planning situation.

“We worked collaboratively with the landowners and their appointed professional advisers to work through any issues and, alongside this, we managed the legal due diligence to ensure that everything stacked up to facilitate the development.”

“The acute need for new housing stock to meet the needs of the general public is showing no sign of slowing down,” she adds, “and we look forward to continue working with Deeley Homes on this site and other proposed residential development sites in the Midlands.”

Law firm Wright Hassall and land agents Sheldon Bosley Knight represented the landowner on the land deal for the site.
