Short bio:

I specialise in property dispute resolution and contentious probate resolution.

I have nearly 30 years’ of advising companies, partnerships, and private clients in many areas including landlord and tenant matters, easements such as rights of way and rights to light, overage, party walls, boundaries, proprietary estoppel, and development projects and agreements. I act for farmers and landowners in relation to property, land, and agricultural disputes.

I also deal with contentious probate matters. This includes claims under the Inheritance Act 1975; claims in which the capacity of the deceased is in question, and issues over alleged undue influence. I’ve acted for many clients in relation to proprietary estoppel claims which often arise if someone is left out of the will.

I am an accredited mediator and believe that many disputes can be effectively resolved this way. My approach is pragmatic and commercial and, where appropriate I will pursue a claim (or defend a claim) to trial, with a clear strategy and the client’s objective always in mind.

I sit on the panel of dispute mediators for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, where our role is to encourage and assist parties to resolve boundary disputes without needing to go to court.
