I am an equity partner in our Corporate and Commercial team. I advise clients on buying and selling companies, raising finance, general corporate matters, and on their commercial contracts. I have a specialist interest in corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity.

What do you most enjoy about your job?
I enjoy working with owner managers who are developing their businesses, or going through material change. This is done through acquisition, sale, or fundraising for growth.

What sort of clients do you work with?
Many of my clients tend to be private companies and OMBs, although I also work with fund providers.

When did you start at Lodders? Any interesting past employers?
I have been with Lodders for 2 months. Prior to that, I worked at Gowlings in Birmingham (formerly Eversheds and Wragges), as well as RPC in London.

Have you always worked in the legal sector? If not, what did you do before?
I have always worked in the law, after seeing if tennis was a career – it wasn’t!

Are you involved with, or a trustee, of any charities?
I am a trustee of the Stratford Literary Festival, a charity that runs various outreach programmes, as well as the literary festival itself.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?
The kids get me out of bed in the morning; we have four aged between 12 and 18.

Any interesting qualifications?
I thought it would be good to have a speed boat licence, for when you turn up somewhere with boats, and you fancy a day on the water.  So I got one, tried to hire a boat in Croatia, and was told I only had a certificate for inland water, not coastal water. I also have a tennis coaching qualification, from back when dinosaurs roamed the land!

Any interesting personal achievements?
I ran a quiz for a few years for one of the children’s schools, which was great fun, and raised a little money for the school’s coffers.
