I am a Solicitor in Lodders’ Real Estate Team. I advise clients on a broad range of commercial property transactions, including residential development matters (acting on behalf of landowner, funder, or developer). This can range from sites suitable to develop one or two dwellings, to larger scale strategic land matters, which may result in hundreds of new homes being built. This can be through conditional contracts, option agreements, or promotion agreements.
I have further experience in dealing with landlord and tenant matters, whether acting on behalf of the landlord or tenant. This involves the grant of new leases, and dealing with existing leases, including assignments and underlettings. I also deal with the drafting of documents ancillary to these transactions, including licences for alterations, and rent deposit deeds, to name a couple of examples.
Furthermore, I also deal with investment sales and purchases, acting on behalf of buyer, seller, or lender. These can range from standalone commercial units, to office blocks, or industrial estates.
I also deal with more general property matters, including first registrations, deeds of easement, and title due diligence.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
Every client and transaction is different, which means that no two days are ever the same. Each transaction also involves problem solving, to find practical solutions to whatever problems may arise during the course of a transaction. This often involves liaising with agents, lenders, or other professionals along the way.
When did you start at Lodders? Any interesting past employers?
I joined Lodders as a Real Estate Paralegal in October 2014. I then completed my Training Contract with the firm, before qualifying as a Solicitor in our Real Estate team in September 2017. Prior to this, I studied Law at Cardiff University and studied the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School
