Private Client Associate Solicitor

We are looking for a keen and ambitious solicitor to join our Private Client team.

With one of the largest teams in the Midlands, we have earned a national reputation and top-tier rankings in both Chambers and the Legal 500, for our support on all aspects of private client law including wills, trusts, estates and tax planning, and services for elderly and vulnerable clients.

Knowledge, education, and experience required

• Associate/senior associate position.
• Over 5 years PQE. 
• Ability to work to deadlines/prioritise work/manage a varied caseload.
• Ability to work in a team and on own initiative.
• Strong legal skills and an eye for detail.
• Excellent communication skills.

Key tasks and responsibilities

• Running a complex caseload of high net worth estates.
• Knowledge of APR/BPR and other IHT reliefs/exemptions.
• Knowledge in dealing with foreign assets/reseals of grants etc.
• Comprehensive understanding of the preparation of IHT returns and estate accounts.
• Strong knowledge of post-death tax planning/restructuring.
• Knowledge of lifetime gifts, effect on death.
• Knowledge of settled property and aggregable assets.
• Knowledge of grossing up for IHT purposes.
