Henley fundraiser to be the ‘paw-fect’ day for families

Lodders Charitable Foundation dog walk and family fun day is on Sunday 9 October 2022

A fundraising dog walk along Henley in Arden’s picturesque footpaths and bridleways is part of an action-packed day for the family.

Lodders Charitable Foundation (LCF) is hosting its Family Fun Day at Lodders Barn, Whitley, from 10am on Sunday 9 October.

The annual dog walk, in memory of Sally Badger, is a regular fixture on the LCF’s annual fundraising calendar, but this year, its trustees have decided to expand the event to include an action-packed day of fun activities and entertainment for all the family, as its chairman David Lodder explains:

“Since 2017, the annual dog walk has been our way of honouring the memory of Sally Badger who is fondly and well-remembered by the Henley in Arden community, as throughout her lifetime, Sally and her guide dogs – first Honey and then Captain – won the hearts of the local people.

“This year, we want to stage an even bigger event. The dog walk remains the focus of the day, but as well as this popular organised walk, we will have a dog show, with classes for all types and sizes of dogs, and plenty of entertainment for all the family, as well as food, activities, games for youngsters, and a scavenger hunt.”

Free entry

Pooches and their humans can put their best paw and foot forward at the LCF Family Fun Day at Lodders Farm, Whitley, Edge Road, B95 5DT near Henley in Arden. Entry opens at 10am and is free, with options of either a four-mile or shorter dog walk to choose from.

Law firm Lodders created the Lodders Charitable Foundation (LCF) in 2016 with the aim of raising vital financial support and providing help to local charities where it can make a genuine difference. To date, it has raised and donated more than £70,000 to independent charities.  For more information: Charitable Foundation Family Fun Day – Lodders Solicitors

Sally Badger suffered a malignant brain tumour at just age ten, which left her partially sighted for much of her life; she is remembered for her courage and generous spirit, having sadly passed away in 2017 at just 38 years old.
